Things You Should Know:
Know the
right materials are used in your shutter. Certain woods take stain
better, but aren’t necessary or cost effective for paint. Some woods are too soft or prone to
warping, while others are too heavy for various applications. You don’t have to actually learn all of
this; let an expert help you select.
Know your
shutter style is the best look for your application.
Decisions include:
Plantation, Traditional, Raised Panel, Arts and Crafts as well as
inside or outside mount, with/without frames and what type of frame,
single or multi panels, louver size, divider bars, and so on. We’ll explain your options and offer
helpful advice from our experience.
Know who will be
installing your shutters. Your Chicago Shutters installation will
be led by one of our two “third generation” shutter installers with years
of window treatment and carpentry experience. For that truly custom, architectural
look, shutters rely on expert selection, measure and installation and
Chicago Shutters offers true expertise.
Know your shutter provider. Chicago Shutters is an
outgrowth of Clyde Coyle’s Drapery House.
Clyde
began designing window treatments
in 1963, and began his own business in 1976. The Drapery House has been providing
custom plantation shutters since 1996.
The expertise required for selecting, measuring, and installing
led to an increased demand for shutters from the Drapery House. In 2000 Chicago Shutters was launched
to provide competitive pricing,
exceptional service and unparalleled value.
